Please keep the top portion to refer back to as they complete the project. If you have any questions, please let me know.

The kids have been working so hard to prepare for the Milestone, and they are blowing me away! I am pushing them a lot and I’m sure they think I am so mean, but I tell them all the time it’s because I love them and I want the best for them! Their hard work is paying off and the improvements they have made, especially in reading and writing, are unbelievable. They should be very proud of their work!

I believe that is all for now, if you have any questions about anything, please let me know!

I hope you enjoy the beautiful weather we are supposed to have this weekend!

Week 23

Good afternoon!
I hope you have all had a wonderful week!

Next week in…
Spelling: NONE
Grammar: relative pronouns
Reading: comparing and contrasting relative pronouns
Writing: character writing (this is due on Friday)
Science: NONE
Social Studies: American Revolution
Math: multiplying fractions (test next Friday over chapter 9- adding and subtracting fractions, adding and subtracting mixed numbers, and multiplying fractions)

Reminders:
-          The Writing Fair writing is due to me Monday morning. I cannot accept any writing that is turned in late. They have a strict deadline.
-          We are having our Valentine exchange on February 14th. There are 25 students in the class so please make sure there is one for every child if they decide to participate (only those who give Valentines can receive Valentines). They should only sign their name, they do not need to be addressed to individual students. This helps save time when passing them out! The students are not required to have a decorated box, however, I know as a kid I enjoyed decorating a box so they are definitely more than welcome! If they do not decorate a box, they must have a bag of some sort to collect their Valentines.
-          Please make sure you child is completing their TenMarks math homework. This is going to be something that is assigned each night. There will be 10-20 problems assigned each night to review concepts that have been taught throughout the year. If I feel like your child needs more practice with one concept, I will have them practicing that concept.
-          The kids have been writing it in their agenda each day, but many of them did not have their summaries that they were to complete at home. I reminded them that they need to do the Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then to “brainstorm” what they will write in their paragraph which should be at least 5 sentences. (This is only for those students that I have for reading.)

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!
