Week of September 10th Update

Good afternoon parents,

I hope you all had a wonderful week! Only one more week until our September break! Woohoo!!!

Next week in…

• Reading: We will be discussing how to summarize text using the Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then strategy.
• Word Work: Students will take the vocabulary test on THURSDAY, September 20^th. Several students were unprepared and did not have their vocabulary activity sheet with them in class. It is very important that they keep up with their work as I am unable to give them additional copies. We will be discussing simple and complete subjects and there will be an assessment on Friday.
• Writing: Students will continue working on their narrative essays.

Reminders:

• Please download the Class Dojo app and use the sheet that was given out at Open House or sent home in your child’s Thursday folder last week to connect to your child’s account. This is how I update parents on their child’s behavior in class. It is important that you have access to their Class Dojo account that way there are no surprises when you receive their report card and they have an NI in work study or conduct. If you misplaced the paper that was sent home and need to know their individual code, please let me know.
• Thursday folders went home yesterday. Please return these as soon as possible, but no later than Tuesday.
• If your child has not turned in their Progress Report or their Performing Arts, these were due on Tuesday and I need them ASAP!
