Reading: Read for 30 minutes. As you read, think
about connections you can make to the book you are reading. Make 4 connections
to the text: 1 Text to Self, 1 Text to Text, 1 Text to World, and 1 Text to
Media Connection. Use the reference sheet below to help you make your
connections. You can write these connections down in your reading journal. Make
sure you label the type of connection you are making.

Login to Education Galaxy. Under the “My Assignments” tab, click on Reading.
Complete the Poetry assignment.
Word Work: Check your answers on yesterday’s
practice sheet.
Complete the sheet we glued in on Friday that has “Wed” written at
the bottom. See below for a picture of the sheet. Study your vocabulary words
from Lesson 16.
Writing: Write a paragraph explaining what you
did today to avoid becoming bored. Your paragraph must be a minimum of 5
sentences, and you should use correct spelling, capitalization, and
punctuation. If you’d like, you can type this in a Word document in Office 365
and you can share it with me (Hannah Muhlbauer) and I will respond to you 😊

Go on a virtual field trip of the Museum of the American Revolution with the author
of the “I Survived” books. After the virtual field trip, scroll down to where
it says “Free Storyworks Article”, click on Grades 4-5. Read the article
“Blood, Smoke, and Freedom: A True Story of the American Revolution” and
complete the Write to Win activity at the bottom.
