Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!

Good afternoon,
How can the year be halfway over?! We had such a fun holiday party on Wednesday and I appreciate all the donations and volunteer help that was given to help pull off this awesome party!

Reminders:
  • Students return to school on Monday, January 7th.
  • We will go to the Fire Safety Village on January 10th. Please dress your child in appropriate clothing based on the weather. We will have to go outside, rain or shine. Students should wear their class t-shirts (under layers if needed) as well as tennis shoes.
  • Please sign the purple paper that was stapled in your child’s agenda updating you on your child’s progress with their 25 Book Challenge.

We are running low on tissues in my classroom, if you are out and about over the break and wouldn’t mind picking up a box or two, we would greatly appreciate it! The sniffle season has already begun and will continue to be in full swing when we return from break! Thanks in advance.

I am so appreciative of all the gifts that were given to me this week! You all are so sweet to think of me during this very busy holiday season. I wish you and your family safe travels over the break, and I hope you are able to enjoy this holiday season with your families. Cherish each and every moment and don’t sweat the small stuff, because one day you will miss this craziness!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!

DO NOT PLACE THE ORDER FORM IN THE MONEY ENVELOPE!

Week of December 3rd Update

Good afternoon parents,

Next week in…
  • Reading: We will be discussing how to identify the main idea and supporting details of an informational text.
  • Writing: We will be working on opinion writing and the RACE strategy.
  • Word Work: There will be a quiz on Lesson 9 on Friday. We will also discuss homophones.

Reminders:
  • At our holiday party I always do a book exchange with my students. Each student brings in a new or VERY gently used book that a 4th grade boy or girl would enjoy. Girls will exchange with girls, and boys will exchange with boys. So, please buy your books accordingly. If you would like, you can order books from our classroom Scholastic book website. Here is the link https://orders.scholastic.com/Q79JX. Orders should be submitted by Sunday at midnight. I will be placing this order on Monday, December 10th to ensure these books get here on time for our class Holiday party. If you would prefer to go out and purchase the book on your own, please make sure the books are sent in and wrapped by Monday, December 17th.
  • PLEASE make sure your child completes their Homework Response #7. This particular assignment requires that students watch a video, and the county prevents students from watching a video in school. Therefore, students must complete this assignment at home.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I hope you all have a great weekend!
