Welcome Back!

Welcome back Bullard Bulldogs! I am so excited to be your child's 4th grade ELA teacher this 2019-2020 school year! As you may or may not know, I am currently out on maternity leave. While I am out, Mrs. Hall will be in my classroom. Mrs. Hall has been teaching for 12 years and has been at Bullard for 2 years as our 3-5 EIP teacher. I know she is looking forward to kicking off this year with you!

Please email Mrs. Hall if you have any questions or concerns at Megan.Hall@cobbk12.org

If you have not done so already, please complete the Student Information Survey.

Here is the PowerPoint that was discussed at Sneak-A-Peek/Open House.

I look forward to meeting you all when I return!

Love,
Mrs. Muhlbauer

Week of May 6th Update

Good afternoon parents,
I hope you all have had a great week! I am so proud of how hard the kids worked on the Milestone test this week! They remained focused and I know they all tried their very best.

Next week in…
  • Reading: We will continue reading the book Stone Fox in class.
  • Word Work: We will review grammar concepts that have been discussed this year.
  • Writing: Students will continue to work on building their writing stamina.

Reminders:
  • As the end of the year is approaching, I wanted to offer a group order for Scholastic books! With summer comes extra time that students have, and as a teacher I would love to see students reading frequently! I would encourage you to buy some books that your child would be interested in reading over the summer. Our class code is Q79JX. I will submit the order THIS MONDAY, May 6th, so have your orders in by 8AM on Monday.
  • Students will take the math Milestone tests on Monday and Tuesday. Please make sure your child arrives to school on time and has eaten a healthy breakfast. They are almost finished!
  • Field Day is on Thursday. If you would like to come, we will begin in the gym at 8:45 for our kick off. Please have students wear their class t-shirt, tennis shoes, and sunscreen. They may also bring water bottles that they are responsible for keeping up with on Field Day. I would also have them bring a change of clothes in case they get a little wet!
  • All 25 Book Reviews for our 25 Book Challenge are due on May 14th. Please ask your child for an update on their progress with this challenge. I would love to see all of my students at the celebration!!!
  • Our end of the year party will be on May 17th. There will be more information on this in the coming days. Stay tuned!
  • Please check ParentVue for your child’s progress report grades. If you have questions, please let me or Mrs. Philp know.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Week of April 29th Update

Good afternoon parents,
I hope you all have had a wonderful week!

Next week in…
Reading: We will begin our book study on Stone Fox. The students always LOVE reading this book!
Word Work: We will continue doing a grammar review.
Writing: Students will have the opportunity to free write to continue building their writing stamina.

Reminders:
  • The Artome Art Show is the night of the Talent Show (May 3rd) in the Gym. This fundraiser supports STEM and our Yearlong Projects for next year.
  • As the end of the year is approaching, I wanted to offer a group order for Scholastic books! With summer comes extra time that students have, and as a teacher I would love to see students reading frequently! I would encourage you to buy some books that your child would be interested in reading over the summer. Our class code is Q79JX. I will submit the order on May 6th, so have your orders in by 8AM that day.
  • Monday begins our ELA testing. We will complete the ELA sections on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Students will have a testing break on Thursday and Friday. Please make sure you child arrives to school on time with lots of rest and a full tummy (from a very healthy breakfast 😊). I know testing can bring about a lot of nerves. I have tried reassuring the students that they know everything they need to know for the test, they have been practicing so hard in class. Monday is our “game day” where they have the opportunity to show what they have been practicing in class. Please continue to reassure them that this test does not define them and as long as they try their best their teachers and parents will be proud of them. I’m thankful that I get to be their little cheerleader for this “game day”!

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Have a fabulous weekend!
